4D Monitoring of Subsurface Conditions in Concrete Infrastructure Using Multichannel 3D Ground Penetrating Radar

Summary

The aims of the research are to monitor for regions within a concrete structure that exhibit large changes in radar amplitude response associated with structural deformation prior to infrastructure failure. Radar data are acquired using an innovative Multichannel 3D ground penetrating radar (GPR) data acquisition set-up.

Why my research is important

The results of this research will provide engineers and infrastructure asset managers with an innovative, time and cost-effective methodology that will improve the ability to accurately identify, interpret and monitor regions experiencing structural deformation within concrete structure, prior to a possible structural failure.
