Closed-loop boundary layer wind tunnel

The closed-loop boundary layer wind tunnel has a main test section (Section 1) of 2.86m x 2.23m x 5 m (W x H x L).

The maximum wind speed in this section is about 10 m/s. Higher wind speed can be achieved in the smaller sections.

The tunnel is used for research by PhD, Master's and final-year students, and it can also be used for consulting projects for business and industry.

The equipment we have allows us to measure wind velocities, wind load on structures, flow-induced structural vibrations etc.

The boundary layer wind tunnel is located in the Structures Laboratory at UWA.
